What is the importance of school readiness to students who are starting their first year in kindergarten?
I selected six students from the afternoon mainstream kindergarten classroom. Three of those students have had some type of school readiness and three of those students have not had anything. I began by taking notes on the students behavior on a weekly basis. Aside from the notes I would so keep examples of the students work that had been done in the classroom setting. Towards the end of the school year I took all six students an assessment. For these six students I kept portfolios. In these portfolios I kept students and probe results. Along with all of these artifacts I decided to also send two surveys for the parents of these six students. To the right are a few of the artifacts that I will be used in my thesis. For my thesis I have completed my time to do my observations. I have organized all of my artifacts and have begun to analyze my information. In the next month or two I plan to complete my entire thesis.
